Gregory Raiz
Greg graduated Tufts University in 1998 with a bachelors degree
in Computer Science Engineering. Immediately following graduation,
he was invited to work at Microsoft on the user experience and interface design of
Windows XP.
As a Program Manager, Greg lead a team to re-energize Windows and
bring an exciting design together with an easy-to-use interface.
In the process, Greg earned six patent awards for user interface
design related technology. While at Microsoft, he publicly spoke at
several developer conferences on UI technology. In addition, Greg
helped publish the book Windows User Experience for Microsoft
press in 1999.
After the completion of XP, Greg moved to Boston to focus on his
company, Raizlabs. The company goal is to enable people to express
their creativity and imagination through innovative software and
products. Greg believes that simple and powerful user experiences
define a great product. Raizlabs focuses on building these
experiences.
Because Greg develops products himself, he understands both the
design and development challenges of building software. Over
the last five years Greg has worked with many companies large and
small designing and developing software and interface solutions. His technical background and
user interface instinct make him unique in his ability to
communicate effectively with product leader and developers alike.
Greg continues to show leadership in interface design and is
currently the Vice Chair of the BostonCHI Group for
Computer Human Interaction.
