you do not have to use tabbed browsing, although i feel it's alot more efficient then having 300 windows. but you windows users like to have a billion icons on your desktop and a billion windows running at the same time so i guess i understand it. nobody forces u to use any feature of a browser.

I had just downloaded AOL explorer yesterday (I collect web browsers, got about dozen of 'em) How come the buttons on mine aren't the same as in the two screenshots? The buttons like the back/forward and home etc are all square.

I do NOT NOT NOT like the new "forced" tab browsing format. AOL was the first ISP I used many years ago. While many of my friends insisted that AOL 'sucked' - I still liked it. I never could figure out what all the fuss was about. I tried some other browsers, friends used - only to come back [actually I never left] to using AOL. AOL has made changes in the past I did NOT appreciate - the calendar format - old one was MUCH better IMO - colors for different activities/notes...
I stayed with AOL because I did NOT have to use 'tab' browsing! I would simply minimize a website I wanted to revisit & then I could drag the 'placemarker' ANYWHERE on my desktop. I contacted AOL, thru live tech support chat & the olny 'solution' they could offer was to use an older version - one BIG problem, the old AOL's do NOT work with Vista 64bit.
I do not use "free" version of AOL, but if they are going to keep the tab browsing - I will no longer pay for it. If I have to use something I don't like - I may as well use a FREE browser!
Tab browsing, on a provider that did not start with tab browsing, should be an OPTION - not forced. Just MHO.

You can make your own panel on AOL! You don't need add-ons because AOL has everything you ever need for the best browser ever! I tink AOL is a better Browser than Mozilla firefox, Internet explorer, safari, opera, netscape and all the other company browsers!

It don't suck. I used aol explorer for windows right now due to all the web sites wanting to put there add on to my microsoft internet explorer. I love the tab browseing it works for me. I used dogpile.com as my main search engine with aol explorer and do get an occansional error, when that rarely happens i right click and open a new window and it opens what i want in the new window. That's the only problem I've ever encountered with it. Not haveing add ons maybe a problem for some, but not me it saves me from haveing to uninstall them. I think it's more secure without the add ons. The rss reader works great it takes place of the add ons if you make your own panel on it such as weather plane on mine.
