Gregory Raiz Founder & CEO

Greg Raiz, founded the company in 2003 with a vision to create innovative and intuitive software. Greg has worked on a wide range of projects from designing desktop operating systems to handheld mobile applications. 
 
Greg graduated Tufts University in 1998 with a bachelors degree in computer science engineering. Immediately following graduation, he was invited to work at Microsoft on the user experience and interface design of Windows XP. Greg earned six patent awards for user interface design related technology. While at Microsoft, he publicly spoke at several developer conferences on UI technology. In addition, Greg helped publish the book Windows User Experience for Microsoft press in 1999.

In 2001 Greg moved back to Boston to focus on his company, Raizlabs. The company's goal is to enable people to express their creativity and imagination through innovative software and products. Simple and powerful user experiences define a great products. Raizlabs focuses on building these experiences.

Greg continues to show leadership in mobile and design community. He served as the vice chair of the computer human interaction group BostonCHI from 2005-2007 and is now serving as secretary of the Boston-based usability group, UPA Boston. Greg also founded the Boston area mobile development group, DrinksOnTap.org. Greg has been invited to speak for developer summits, panels, conferences, events, universities and corporate functions.

Craig Spitzkoff, VP of Development

Craig graduated from Tufts University in 2000 with a bachelors degree in Computer Science Engineering and a minor in Multimedia Arts. Following graduation, Craig went to work for Lockeed Martin's Information Dominance Systems division in Nashua N.H.

As part of a team focused on building Mission Planning applications for the U.S. Airforce, Craig architected and developed large interconnected systems for real time information management that were deployed world wide.

As a lead software engineer, Craig built and led a multidisciplinary team of engineers and subcontractors to architect and develop core pieces of the Global Planning solution built upon the Joint Mission Planning System.

While working in the defense industry, Craig completed his MBA at Northeastern University in 2003.

As a side project, Craig founded JobVent.com in August of 2004. In August of 2009 JobVent.com was acquired.

In 2006, Craig left the defense industry to work with Greg Raiz as part of Raizlabs, developing solutions for clients in multiple industries. Craig has led development of all Raizlabs desktop and iPhone products.

Anna Callahan, Software Developer

After graduating from the University of Michigan with a degree in mathematics, Anna made her living as a professional jazz musician for 10 years.  In 2004, she began developing software that integrated green-screened film into a virtual 3-D environment.  In 2006 she worked for Hingepoint, doing rapid prototyping in their message-based language.  In 2009, Anna began developing iPhone apps with an emphasis on UI design and prototyping. She can be contacted at anna.callahan@raizlabs.com.

 

Justin Kaufman, Software Developer

Justin graduated from Boston University in 2009 with a bachelors degree in Psychology and a minor in Computer Science.  His studies emphasized the overlap between these fields, including research into computer ergonomics and accessibility.  This user-centered perspective informs his projects and development work.  He has been developing for the iPhone since the App Store launched in 2008.  Justin Kaufman can be contacted directly at jkaufman@raizlabs.com.  He can be found on Twitter @j_kauf.

 

Robert Sesek, Software Developer Intern

Robert is a junior at Boston University, working towards a major in Film and Television and a minor in Computer Science. He has been writing software for the past nine years and currently releases his Mac OS X and PHP open source projects under the his personal site Blue Static. Also, when he can, he helps out with the effort to port Google Chromium to the Mac. Coming on as a summer intern in 2009, Robert has worked to maintain existing Raizlabs iPhone products, as well as to help build new ones with a focus on social networking.
