Help for PHP Email Manager

This document provides help information for users of PHP email Manager a simple to use email newsletter list management application for your website. Additional help is available through our user forum. 

What are the server requirements?
The server needs to be a server running PHP 4 or higher with support for MySQL. The server can be Windows or Linux. The server will need approximately 1Mb of space on the server.

How do I install Php EMail Manger?
After you have downloaded the PHP eMail Manager zip file you will need to unzip the folder and copy the entire PHP folder to your website including any sub-folders. Once the software is copied to your server open a web-browser and navigate to the location of the software. 

You will need the MySQL login information to create or setup a database connection. You will need permission to either create a database or to create a table within an existing database.

Once your database is setup configure the rest of your settings. For your SMTP email server enter the same information that you use to connect using your email program. Your mail server settings are often provided by your ISP or web host.

Once setup is complete you should be able to login and create a mailing list.

How do I purchase the software?
The easiest way to purchase the software is to install it on your server and use the built in purchase link. This will purchase the software, generate a serial number and remove any restrictions from the software.  The software costs $89 for a general version and $499 for a developer version with source code. All licenses are sold per-server.

How large a list can I have?
PHP eMail Manager does not limit the size of your mailing list. The limit on your list is more often on the speed of your server. We have found that PHP eMail Manager works well for lists as large as 10,000 users. If you have a list that is larger and need customized features you can contact us for development. 

How do I customize the look?
In the server administration page go to "Change server settings and preferences." The best way to customize is to setup the header and footer for your mailing list. Simply insert the HTML that you would like displayed at the top and bottom of each page. Our software will blend seamlessly into your site.

How do I bulk add users?
If you are migrating users you may need to bulk add users from your previous mailing list. Once you log into your administrator screen select "Add Users." At the bottom of the screen will be a link that says "bulk add multiple email addresses." Using this screen you can paste in many email addresses. Email addresses added this way must be separated by a space a line break or a coma. If you are familiar with MySQL you may be able to bulk add users directly to the Subscribers and subscriptions tables.
